Lesson presets
Presets for all the lesson plans and games in the morphology kit.
Choose the preset lesson, and the morphemes appear on the screen along with teacher notes and tips. You can save and customise these to suit your students’ needs.
Morpheme Matricies
Preset morpheme matrices for bases/roots included in the program.
There are 17 common bases/roots that are covered in the morphology kit teaching sequence. These give a solid grounding in understanding morphology and word families.

If you have your own morphology sequence or want to do a word family study or make your own matrix, you can type in your own morphemes, look up the meanings, make teacher notes and save the lesson. You can even share your saved lesson with others!

Automatic Spelling Rule Warnings
Don’t get caught on the hop trying to remember complex spelling rules and end patterns – the software alerts and reminds you!
Morphology spelling rules are complicated, and when you’re under pressure in front of a class or student, it can be challenging to remember everything! The software will detect base end patterns and warn you if they are dangerous and a spelling rule needs to be considered.
Look Up Any Word
It is often challenging to juggle multiple websites and tabs in front of students. You can type in any word, drag it onto the Word Cracker and look it up!
The default look-up option we use is Wiktionary because of its enormous public domain and ad-free database of morphemes. You can also optionally choose to look up the word using the excellent Etymonline.
This gives you the freedom and confidence to explore the origin and morphemic parts of any word!
Games & Activities
Everyone loves a game! It’s a great opportunity to provide motivation and repetition without the boredom.
Every suffix included in the program has a game preset built into the software as well as a ‘silly bases’ game and more on the way!
